Bed & Breakfast of Manitoba-First in Canada!

The Bed & Breakfast organization of Manitoba is bigger, better, and more diverse than ever before! The old B & B of Manitoba was constrained by the energies and vision of a sole proprietor. In November of 2005, Manitoba B & B owners joined forces and seized upon a new vision. In the true pioneer spirit and tradition of the prairies, members are pleased to announce the formation of MANITOBA BED & BREAKFAST MARKETING CO-OP INC., operating as BED & BREAKFAST OF MANITOBA. This is Canada's first bed and breakfast marketing co-operative.

The B & B owners wish to acknowledge the help and guidance of the Manitoba Department of Industry, Trade and Mines, and the Manitoba Department of Culture, Heritage, and Tourism in assisting in forming a very healthy and growing co-operative made up of bed and breakfast owners from all regions of Manitoba.

The benefits of the new structure are countless, not only to the B & B owners and to their guests, but also as an added draw that invigorates the tourist-accommodation industry in Manitoba. The Co-op can now utilize the creativity and energy of over 92 B & B owners in Manitoba, 16 of whom are located in Winnipeg. One might say that this province now has a very well organized group of ambassadors promoting Manitoba, setting high standards for our industry, and reacting to the changing needs of the traveling public.

Bed and Breakfast accommodations are gaining popularity worldwide, with vacationers and business-travelers alike. Even corporations have recognized the comfort and charm, not to mention the great value, that bed and breakfasts offer. B & B hosts are an excellent source of information about local events, history, cuisine, and much more. It is like having a concierge service, but no tip is required. Many of the B & Bs offer meeting rooms, office services, and Internet access for their guests. A variety of uniquely Manitoban experiences awaits all travelers.
