We are a part of the Red River North Tourism Association and the La Verendrye Trail.

Our rustic 2-storey country home, built with cedar and locally milled pine, is located in a cottage area, hidden away 'inn' among the oaks and dense saskatoon bushes, giving a secluded, quiet atmosphere. There are decks to sit and relax on, an outdoor above-ground swimming pool, and an indoor hot tub. We have four spacious, comfortably-appointed guest rooms (smoke-free area), each with patio doors opening onto a balcony or deck. There is a separate entrance for guests' privacy. The shared full bathroom is large and cheery. A tasty full breakfast is served in our dining room where many windows afford a view outdoors. A fully equipped outdoor kitchen (with barbeque) is available for guests' use.

We, your hosts Ken and Luise Avery, welcome you to stay with us. Our family is well-travelled and we love meeting people from everywhere. German and some French is spoken. We take great pleasure in providing warm hospitality and a relaxing, comfortable sojourn.

A pleasant one hour's drive from Winnipeg by highways 59 and 12 brings you to gently rolling forested countryside, marshes teeming with bird-life, and beautiful sandy beaches. Here you will find Grand Beach, rated among the top 10 beaches in North America, with powder-fine white sand and impressive dunes. The expansive stretch of beach brings thousands of visitors on hot summer days to swim, sunbathe and stroll. There is windsurfing, fishing, beach volleyball, picnic facilities, hiking trails, interpretive programs, and water sport equipment rentals, and waterslides. Flora and fauna abound. Great blue heron, Canada geese, pelicans, osprey, and eagles (to name a few) make their homes here. Travelling though the area it is possible to spot deer, moose, fox, beaver, or the black bear. Nearby are several golf courses, including a challenging course with USGA Standard greens. We are 15 minutes away from the South Beach Casino.

Any season is a good time to visit. Autumn brings tranquility and magnificent fall colours. In winter, there is cross-country skiing on groomed trails in the woods through pristine snow; miles of groomed snowmobile trails; ice fishing; and curling. Spectacular sunsets are a frequent occurrence over the lake year-round.

Guests' comments: 'Thanks for your home away from home' 'Thanks for the personal touch' '...felt like home', and 'we'll be back!'
