We offer two rooms for our guests. They are on the second floor and each has a queen bed and private bath. You will snuggle in under down comforters or sleep comfortably cooled by window air conditioners, depending on the season. After a restful night s sleep, enjoy breakfast in the large, central dining room, surrounded by the home s original oak paneling. Breakfast at Galbraith House is generous and varied. Homemade muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, both hot and cold, toast and local preserves as well as the breakfast entree of the day are all possibilities. Whether you prefer a full, hot breakfast, or something lighter, we do our best to make sure you start your day feeling satisfied. Our central location offers easy access from the airport and all major transportation centers. We are close to many tourist and business destinations. Within walking distance is the Pan Am Pool, as well as the eclectic shopping and restaurant areas of Corydon Avenue and Osborne Village. The Forks, Centennial Concert Hall, Manitoba Theatre Centre, MTS Centre and Assiniboine Park are easily accessible either by car or nearby convenient bus routes. When you return from your day of exploring Winnipeg, it s not just your bedroom that awaits you at Galbraith House. Visit with other guests in our oak paneled living room or sip afternoon tea in the old-fashioned sunroom. Read the paper on the screened in deck, relax watching TV, or play a board game in our spacious over the garage library/den. As hosts, we will be delighted to make recommendations for restaurants, tourist sights and share with you our favorite places in Winnipeg. We are also keen cyclists, walkers and cross-country skiers, so we will be glad to advise you on where you can go in order to get your exercise fix. Bicycle and cross-country ski rentals can also be arranged. Galbraith House also provides exercise equipment, laundry facilities and on site plugs for parking. Come stay with us and enjoy a relaxing home away from home where, with just a little coaxing, you might even find a cat to sleep on you bed.

Directions:Coming to Galbraith House from the West.
As you come in along Highway #1, the street becomes renamed Portage Avenue.
Keep heading east.
You will go through approx. 10 sets of lights, beginning with the cross street of St. Charles and then continuing eastward till you get to the lights at Moray. That should take you about 10 minutes, depending on time of day and traffic flow.
Turn right at Moray. This will take you over the Charleswood Bridge. (sometimes called the Moray Bridge.)
Get over to the left hand lane as you are traveling over the bridge.
At the lights, at Roblin, turn left.
Keep heading east. Go through 4 sets of lights. The cross street for the 4th set of lights is Route 90 or Kenaston. (It’s the major street.) Again, it should take you less than 10 minutes to get to this point.
Keep heading east. Stay in the left hand lane.
After Route 90 (Kenaston), the next lights are at Cambridge. (about 5minutes)
Go through them till the next set of lights at Wilton. Turn left.
Head north on Wilton passing these streets: McMillan, Dorchester, Grosvenor and then Yale.
Turn left on to Yale. Head west one block. We are the house on the northeast corner of Yale and Rockwood. Number 299.
